DECA members raise money for Polar Bear Plunge in Minnesota

DECA members in Minnesota raise money for the Special Olympics Minnesota. The goal was to raise $2,475 by January 29, 2011. They were challenged by Team Ridgewater College. The amount of money raised was $310.00. The final money count was $310.00.

DECA members supports Special Olympics in New Mexico

In the months of January and February of 2011, DECA members in Manzano, New Mexico became strong supporters of the New Mexico Special Olympics. Chapter members helped raise money to buy uniforms, volunteered at the fall bowling tournaments and the spring track & field meets. DECA members also traded hugs and high-fives with the Special Olympics athletes !

DECA members in "Spread the word to end the word"

In the months of November and December of 2010, DECA members in White Horse, Tennessee organized a nine-week campaign to end the use of the r-word in a derogatory way. The campaign included a pep-rally launch, promotional t-shirt, selling of silicone bracelets, a pledge table, video public service announcement and viral communications. Their goal was to receive 2,000 pledges from students and the community.
